The Ishara Archives is a living, evolving archive reclaiming South Asian identity through creative expression, storytelling, memory, and resistance. These guidelines are here to help you understand what we’re looking for—and what we’re building together.

What We Publish

We welcome work that reflects, resists, remembers, reclaims.

We accept submissions in the following formats:

• Poetry
• Essays & Op-eds
• Fiction & Folklore
• Photography
• Visual art & illustration
• Hybrid works (collage, annotated scans, text-image pairings)

We especially encourage submissions from South Asian-identifying creators across all regions, languages, religions, ages and genders.
